I've got an A. Versicolor juvi and it's really pretty. I think it's in premolt, as it's not eaten and has webbed up both entrances of it's web and looks quite chubby. It's a cute little critter and usually a good eater.

P.S.: I keep leaving hints to my husband to buy me a Christmas present of the arachnid kind (leaving pages open on the laptop, etc). I can't go behind his back again, lol.

Hi fuzzball79.
I like your style! Leaving pages open. I must try that 1.. I think I'm getting a well known book on keeping tarantulas written by Mr Schultz. It's my 35th birthday on Boxing Day also so who knows what I will get.

I think I will keep 3 tarantulas for now and learn more about them etc
(Until next year)

Congrats. Mine also burrowed as soon as it arrived, a lovely neat hole under the cork bark. Last night was the first I'd seen of it for 3 weeks and this was all I got, its bum lol.

I'm guessing it comes out but I never see it. Food disappears quickly though, it's always gone by the time I check them again later.

I had just watered them all last night so I'm guessing that's why it had been out when I got that pic of it going back into hiding

I will try mine with a pin head. Hope it comes out to eat rather than the cricket falling into the hole of death lol. Need to find a micro piece of bark. The jam jar I have him/her in at the moment is just temporary until the new enclosure comes. I did start a burrow for him/her with a pencil but It can't of been up to standard.lol

I have 10 and have only been collecting for a little over a year :) I don't think there is a limit, but I will only buy if I know taking care of them and the extra supplies and food are in my budget because I REFUSE to get one and not be able to give it the proper care. If I had more money I'd have more though haha!! I would say go for it with the A. Geniculata. I have a juvi about an inch and a half. She is an AMAZING eater and very interesting to watch. She digs tunnels like crazy right up next to the glass so I can see. She is still grey because she's not too old but she is definitely gorgeous too.

Hi sym
I haven't used metamorphosis yet but I just had a look at there site and they have some nice stuff if the weather was a bit warmer I would have orderd a few M.balfouri slings they are very reasonably priced.

Hi ghost. They did supply heat pads in the box. I've just offered a pin head and it didn't last long. It's my first sling and mail order to.

I have had them delivered with heat packs before without problems it's just that I live in scotland and it was snowing yesterday and I don't like to take the risk when it's too cold.

You now have the whole holiday to decide, bet you get more than one lol.

I'd do the old pros and cons type list of all the ones you like and see if that helps.
