Just want to stop in and say hello. I've kept tarantulas and scorpions on and off since the early 90's. It was 10yrs ago that I sold off my collection, but I'm getting back in. One of my goals is to start breeding, I had a pair of B.smithi before but never actually bred them.

I currently have the following unsexed species. Will be adding more soon :)

2" Lasiodora parahybana
2.5" Lasiodora difficili
2" Megaphobema robustum
2" Pelinobius muticus
1/2" Hysterocrates crassipes

Hello, welcome to the forum. Really great people on here and ther is a separate group for trantula breeding when you are ready ☺. I am fellow "lifer" keeping Ts from the mid nineties too. Was commenting the other day funnily enough about the many species now available in the hobby. Welcome back to the addiction....lol

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Yeah I'm pretty excited to getting back in way to long being out. @Phil yes noticing all the different species available now seems a lot different from 10 yrs ago when I left.....man time really does fly by. Yes I did see that breeding section, which I'll be hitting soon...thinking of grabbing this pair of 4.5 - 5" LP's I've been eyeing for a couple of days. @VanessaS cool, and yeah love here already. @Kymura yes the addiction is starting again....luckily my wife supports my addiction, did back then and does now. :)

Good luck with the breeding programme, the only comment I would make on the LPs (as lovely as they are) is that they are common now and lots of people breeding them. Most places I know give hem away as freebies for other T's. So, if you want to use LPs to experiment in breeding, fine, but you may struggle to move the slings on. Please don't let that put you off though, just an observation on the current availability on that particular species.....although that is based on my UK experience rather then US so will let members on the "other side of the pond" express their own opinions and pearls of wisdom ☺

Thanks for the comment on the LP's. Yeah I was kind of thinking as an experiment in breeding since I didn't attempt it back then and wish I had. Will have to think about it some more, the same guy also has a 6" adult female Pamphobeteus sp. Ecuador II that I might do. Something about those large south american terrestrials that I can't seem to move away from... that's mainly what I had back then, Lasiodora, Pamphobetus etc. I did do Hysterocrates which the genus was a mess back then not sure if it still is. Pokies are starting to call my name too.

All good choices. Like I say, please don't let my comment put you off. Just make sure you have the space and facility to keep potentially hundreds of little spiderlings before you can move thdm on. If you are friendly with local pet stores they may take them and trade against others or keep you in food for a while.....lol
