Hello everybody, my name is Ryan and I have lurked these forums ever since stumbling on a tarantula feeding video on youtube. I was hooked by these fascinating critters and after doing months of forum lurking and research, last week I received my first tarantula!

It is a little B. Albopilosum sling! I cannot wait to see him/her grow and to learn more about these amazing spiders!

P.S.

I never intended on handling him/her, it just sort of happened when I opened the paper towel (s)he was packed in

Hello and welcome, great first T, they are little bulldozers at that size and very enjoyable to watch. :)
Don't lurk, folks here are friendly ^.~

Thank you! (S)he randomly decided yesterday to bulldoze his/her entire enclosure and I had the pleasure to watch (I will just refer to it as a her from now on) her do her work. One mouthful of substrate at a time haha

Hi Ryan welcome to the hobby. You couldn't have chosen a better T to start with, they're great characters.
I absolutely agree! I was torn between the B. Albo or a P. Cambridgei, decided to go with the more recommended T!

Perfect choice for your first tarantula - they are lovely and won't disappoint you.
Welcome to you both.
Thank you for the warm welcome!
