I'm not only new to this site, but I'm new to ANY community of T enthusiasts (I'm the loner type)...
I'm 44 and I've had 3 T's through out my life.
My first Rose Hair I had for 13 years.
Then I got a Red Rump, he expired after only 2 years...
I'm now on my 3rd: a Brachypelma Schroederi and she seems to be thriving!
I also have a 6 year baby human who has shown particular interest as well.
Daily we are both excited to see what our T friend is doing next...

Interesting to me is that this is my first T that seems to really have embraced its surroundings. She has excavated a deep whole and has tunneled 4" to 5" in one direction and about 7" in the other direction.

Luckily for us, one of the tunnels ends in the front-corner and we are granted a good view of her ongoings...

As of yesterday I noticed that she sealed her entrance and suspected she was going into in a pre-molt stage. I wasn't sure because Neither of my other T's have ever dug such an extensive tunnel, nor closed the entrance off seemingly burying itself.

So I Googled it. Confirmed my suspicions and kept walking down the Google path until I found myself here.

I'm very interested in live pant enclosures. So far my present enclosure along with a fluorescent UV light, fog machine, live plants and soil floor has our T friend very active with a healthy appetite.

I plan on taking more pics... Thanks for the space to share and learn.

Hi Ken and welcome- really dig the set up. I bet those hydro balls really help with the humidity- I use them for my orchids and they love them

Thanks Sasy! And you're right, the humidity stays present and they allow the plant roots to drain and reach. They're also pretty easy for the T to move and stack... I'm a fan.
