G. rosea hasn't used log

I recently got a Chilean Rose Hair, but so far, I haven't seen it use its log. It usually just stays out in the open. The log is fairly big, compared to my T's size, it has a window and the end for us to see through and a couple holes. Is there any reason as to why it doesn't use the log?

They tend to stay out in the open. It's best to keep it in there for when it molts.

Not all Roseas hide all the time. Mine rarely uses her hide neither. Most of the time she sits either on top of her log or is roaming her enclosure. She didn't even molt in it, just webbed a mat in her "favourite" corner (at least I could see her).

I recently brought home a G. rosea as well and so far she has rarely used the hide. She also has a half log stuck in the bedding at such an angle that the back dead ends. It looks to me like a perfect place for a spider to hide, but she seems not to care too much where she is. I have seen others mention as well that this species does not use hides nearly as much as some others. I have had her about a week now and just last night she was actually sitting in the entrance to the log (possibly "hunting"?) but was out in the middle of the enclosure just that afternoon. I agree that it is wise to keep it in there, who knows when they might decide it is a nice refuge. :) Congratulations on your new acquisition! ^_^
