It looks like some sort of secter spider which are native to the UK :)
I did see a news story the other day that someone in Sainsbury's found a tarantula in the fruit and veg.. Policy is to destroy anything that is found but one of the employees took it home.. Now that's a lucky find :)

Are secter spiders really that black ? Looks like a funnel web
We do have funnel Web spiders in the UK but they are not black they have peppered markings and belong to the agelenidae genus I believe?
The black ones you are thinking of originate from Australia :)
It could be a false widow I guess? If it is its still relatively harmless - I wouldnt mind a black widow myself or a Brazilian wandering spider :p

The best book for British spider identification by far, is Britain’s Spiders a field guide, by Geoff Oxford , Helen Smith , Lawrence Bee.
https://www.summerfieldbooks.com/pr...ide-fully-revised-and-updated-second-edition/

Lawrence Bee also did a very good fold out spider ID sheet. Guide to House and Garden Spiders.
https://www.nhbs.com/a-guide-to-house-and-garden-spiders-book

The fold out guide is not very comprehensive, but is one of a number of still very good guides, that helps you to identify species.
