Hey everyone. So I am new to tarantulas. I take deep interest in the a. chalcodes sleek look and that's pretty much what drew me in. I looked at tom moran's webpage and found this place after I was done.

Trying to figure out what t to get as my first as there are so many to choose from.

Really like the look of chalcodes and medium sized but found out they can be dormant during winter, which saddens me a bit.

Anyways nice to meet y'all.

Welcome to the group. I have a wild caught chalcodes. I've had her over ten years and she's never been dormant in the winter. My room stays in the mid 70s at the lowest.

Is it because your room is warm? I actually like the cold. She is beautiful and stinkin rad.

Possibly. We lost power for a two weeks last winter and it was in the low 50s in my room(20s outside). It never triggered anything with her.

Thanks all. I ended up getting a. anax. I was waiting for my money to drop so i can buy a chalcodes from a store. As I was going to place the order someone else bought it from under me. So went with anax instead.
