This morning my little G. pulchiripes was being pretty active so I decided to go ahead and feed him.

I beheaded a large cricket and put half in with each him and my L. parahybana.

The G. pulchiripes watched it twitch for about 30 seconds and then *BOOM* lept upon it with an amazing amount of gusto. Within another 30 seconds he was doing his "happy munchies" dance. :)

L. parahybana is still circling the cricket half, occasionally touching it with one leg, then backing away and circling...

Yep, I'd pretty much decided that if it wasn't eaten by the time I went to bed tonight I was going to toss it.

Well, tonight I went ahead and fed the tiny B. vagans (who has been burrowed for 2 straight days and I haven't seen him. I know this is normal but I am a new momma here and it is killing me!!!), N. chromatus, and A. geniculata some flightless fruit flies. Not sure feeding the FFF's is going to work out. The babies don't seem to notice them, or get freaked out when one tries to crawl on it. Should I switch to chopped up crickets if they don't go for these? I was figuring smaller live food would be better than larger bits of scavenged food but from what I am reading it seeming most slings ARE scavengers not hunters. Thoughts?

Giving the L. parahybana another go at a half cricket as she seemed much more active tonight. G. pulchiripes is sitting happily in his enclosure. :)

They're oppertunistic. Go with whatever works. I strongly suggest calling some shops in the area and seeing if they can get pinheads.

I live in yuppie suburbia...I can likely get them on occasion from a shop near where I go to college. I am just worried about the three wee ones.

what are they? half inchers? just keep offering parts and eventually they'll take them. Just make sure to keep them well hydrated.

There abouts. I think the N. chomatus is a bit smaller than that but close. If the FFF's don't get eaten I'll remove them in the morning and try cricket bits in a day or so.

My new babies have burrowed and i can only get pictures of a couple of feet. I am well bummed about this but i think they are settling in. Well they are not trying to knock the lids off and escape. I have given water bowls to the biggest of my babies today and put enough water in to cover the bottom of the bowl. I spend most of my life worrying if the animals have enough to drink but now its only the four small chiles and cupid who need water spraying. Hamlet my biggest b smithi looks close to moulting. I dont think it will be long before some of my little dumplings need bigger homes.

My wee ones seemed to fare well with the FFF's. My tiny genic and chromatus only had one each left and both were being VERY active this morning so I think they are still hunting the last one. My tiny vagans still had all of his left and no sign of the little burrowing bugger.

It is a bit disappointing when they disappear into a burrow. Glad yours are settling in well i bet you are well in love!
