Ok I have only two cents and here it is I just got in this hobby I did some research before I got into this hobby hours of reading and watching tutorials . I really like this hobby I like the people very helpful and if I ever can I will help as much as I can.I will not be intimidated by the bill which they are trying to pass I believe they are doing this for the money and not for what this hobby is really about and that is learning teaching ,and most of all the passion for exotics I really hope all this gets straightened out

Definitely got to USARK.org they can use all the support and if you can funding, to fight for our exotic friends at the Senate! The bill already passed the house, call, message your local senators. Usaark has a great example letter you can copy and paste or add to make it your own and links to easily find and contact your reps. The more support usaark and other like them have in each area of the us, the more they can get done to support every exotic species. We have to all ban together and stand behind amazing organizations like this to stop our government from overreaching and adding in laws that make no sense and do more harm then good. Don't let them win, be apart of a very important organization that really helps and stands up for our rights on a regular basis. This is not the first time Congress has tried to hide garbage bans inside bills and it won't be the last. ✊

For real!!! How in the world does the American commerce act have anything to do with the lacey act!! It doesn't. They just figured if they can sneak it into a bill they feel will have no problem being passed, that no one will notice the changes. And mind you no one would be or will be notified that overnight the thousands of exotic birds, fish, ect. Will become federally illegal. Smh it's shameful what they are doing. Always on the backs of the American ppl do they continue to rise and gain wealth. I am hands down up for raising standards of care so we can all ensure our pets, no matter what that looks like, has the best care we can possibly give in captivity. I am also all for conservation. But this nonsense , is just plan dirty an illogical. Educate, not bans and jail/fines. That's not going to stop the illegal pet traders, they already deal with that garbage, this directly goes after everything and anyone dealing with exotics vet, conservationists, scientists, education, medical, ethical captive breeders ect. Theyr going after the wrong ppl. They know they could get billions from this. But just imagine all the resources they also are going to be potentially wasting and what those funds and resources could be used for....

What's this all about then?
Its about people creating a bill that would ban exotic animals from being transported from one state to another there wouldn't be any more animal expos or if had a vet in one state that you used you couldn't use that vet anymore you have to find one in your state basically if you lived in Tennessee you could transport your exotics to another state that would be a felony

What's the point of this?
I will agree that the Lacey Act Amendment should be voted on its own, although the America Competes bill does include references to marine mammal research and coral reef conservation.

The Lacey Act Amendment does include some provisions to allow importing and transporting wildlife. So please don't sell off your T collection or mortgage your house to buy more Ts because you think they won't be available. Do that if the bill passes and if it is as bad as USARK is predicting.

I will now cite America Competes Act TITLE XI—MISCELLANEOUS SEC. 71102. LACEY ACT AMENDMENTS (starts on page 1663)
