Just wanted to share some standard phone pics of my handsome man, Dart. He's an adult male Ewok pruriens, currently my favorite species. I LOVE their colors. These photos do not do them justice at all. They have a rich green-gradient with gold accent markings on the legs.

And here's a shot of my Avicularia avicularia juvenile male freshly molted.

What do you not like about Ewok?
Was never much of an Ewok fan I'm afraid..not much of some the renames as well. All is not lost though. I do like Magnacrus but sadly have none. That is high on the change list but no time soon. Happy Spoodering!

Any plans to send them off to breed?
Short answer: Not any time soon.

I've never shipped Ts before and, forgive me, have a hard time trusting others, but I'm not completely shut-off from the idea.
My E. pruriens is foremost a pet and I would be heart-broken if he died. I'm much more open to sending off in the future my A. avicularia and any of my other Ts if they turn out to be males.
I do want more E. pruriens, though, given that they're my favorite species, so I sooner plan on purchasing a female and breeding them myself.

Shipping tarantulas is very easy! And I get you on not trusting others. Scamming is unfortunately very common in the hobby today.

Out of curiosity: when people loan their males for breeding and the male gets killed by the female, what, typically, do people do? Do they ask the borrower for compensation, or is the risk of the male dying accepted when you agree to the loan and that's just it?

The risk of the male dying is usually just accepted when you agree to the loan.

You have to remember that your male has the potential to keep the hobby numbers healthy if breeding is successful. It is highly worth the risk IMO! Just something to think about.

Yes of course that's

Yes of course! That's why I'm open to it in the future but I'd more likely do the breeding myself so I won't be as upset if something happens to him.
E. pruriens is such a beautiful species that I think more people should have/study so I definitely want to help contribute to their reproduction. I'm deeply attached to Dart which is why the whole sending him away to a different house is hard for me right now x) Eventually I'll be ready to make that decision.
