OK so I'm a college student and I got my first sling over the summer. It's an E campastratus. Cute little guy. I just came home from college and he is looking super stressed out. When I got him he had a black spot on his rear which has slowly gotten larger and it's demeanor has changed significantly all its done was sit in its hole which I hear is normal for these T's. However I just did some enclosure cleaning and when I got him out he's just sitting in what looks like death curl and not moving. It's not just a stress curl I can tell that much I'm worried about it. Also does anyone have any recommendations on food for this little guy? The pet store that I was getting crickets from for him closed down and I've been struggling to get food for him (it just ate 3 days ago so I know this curl is not a result of hunger).

Thanks for all your help everyone he's doing much better now I think he was just overly stressed from a 2 hour car ride. I will also say that I'm worried about him melting tho. I've had him since august and he has not molted once?! It's a 1/4" sling. I never saw him on his back never saw his abdomen darken never even found the remains of a molt if I missed it

Hmmm interesting I guess I'll just have to wait it out then. I can't wait for him to start taking on his adult colors!!!!

My Boehmei sling is a slow grower. Ive had him for about 3 months (+). At the start he ate about 2 cut up mealworms then made a burrow, stayed in there for about a month without eating, molted and eventually came back out.
After that he had about 3 tiny crickets within a week, went into his bottle cup hide, that I'd put in after his molt, so he didn't need to dig in again, sealed it off bar for one emergency exit (my peep hole, lol) and has stayed in there for a month now, again not eating. I occasionally see his bottom, so I know he's not losing weight or looks dehydrated. That spider is really teaching me patience, lol (sooo hard).
