Replaced exo terra mesh screen with large metal mesh but have still found one of my A. gens hanging from the roof a couple of times.
Today he did a runner when i opened the enclosure to help him down. (managed to recover him)
Have concerns about a perspex top not providing enough ventilation (even with holes)
Any good fix ideas appreciated

Hi
I use perspex to mod the enclosures.
Tbh don't see why you are concerned about restricted air flow. You can do as many holes as you like.I melt mine using soldering iron example below

Its exo terra 45x45x30Hcm
And holes are in rows every 2.5-3cm apart and distance between holes in each row is roughly 1.5-2cm and thats overkill in my opinion but I don't mind doing the holes and later i may have to add water more frequently.
If unsure start with holes more spaced and later you can always melt more.
Other option I use for smaller enclosures(as its more expensive)is perforated stainless steel sheet.I get them for my nano talls.
I use this

Like many people, I keep several of my T's in food tubs, etc, with a few air holes melted into them.

If you are going to drill perspex, then be warned, perspex cracks easily. So use a new drill & take it easy.

I use clear or black styrene plastic sheet used in model making for my lids, it drills easier than perspex as it's not brittle. You can buy it in varying sizes from your local model shop or eBay.
