What is the best way to break this stuff up so you can properly lay it down. It comes in a huge brick and I took a knife to it last time but it took literally an hour to get half an inch on the bottom of a 10 gallon tank.

Should be directions on how to break it up on the packaging. On the eco earth bricks you add like 3 quarts of water to the brick, and it breaks up in like 30 mins or so.

It says to use the whole brick, but I don't want to use the whole brick. There is a lot of it! Lol. I should probably cut it in half or something eh?

I rarely use a whole brick of eco, i usually just make it all up, then store the rest in a empty container for later use.
