Stopped for crickets...little juvie all alone in a HUGE display case. Idiot told me it's 'proper name' was a chilian rose haired tarantula. Extremely dry, no water dish, no hide, no real substrate. Made me quite upset. Thin, extremely gentile, grabbed a kritter keeper and taking it home.
Yeti pictures to follow.

lol. i did mean literally hit him with it @Kymura lol....I mean did u tell him what it real scientific name was?
I did, asked him if he knew their scientific names to which he replied that people used the names they knew them by.
I told him his housing was entirely wrong, & I was proud of myself for not being meaner then I was. Asked him if he was the manager, then told him if he was going to continue to get arachnids then he needed to educate himself.

Everytime i see one in the pet store it has like 5 crickets around it and a sponge in the water dish. I tell them if they approach me while im looking at it.

You have a G.porteri.
Absolutely believe you as you know I'm a noob,
please if you have a few, explain how I could tell that ?
Is it just the color as they say or are their other significant differences I could look for?
Either way, I'm glad I have it, just need to change signature now lol

I thought this is porteriView attachment 11779
It looks like it is. So is the one on the right in the image I posted. For whatever reason that one you posted isn't as brightly colored on the carapace.

RCF IS G.rosea. G.porteri is the one with a grayish/Brown body and pink carapace. This is still a highly debated topic but they are often considered different.

Thanks for the information :) let's hope my sling is the other color and an actual G rosea. I love my babies but this one is big enough to see lol
I'll try to get a better picture of mine minus the flash once it settles a bit. I think it's a nice looking little one ^^

Yours is a G.porteri. It's pretty evident by the coloration of the legs.
