Why does Velma dump her used boluses in the water bowl? She typically eats in her hide then takes the bolus all the way across the enclosure and drops it in the water bowl. She then dips her fangs, then chelcera, then palps, into the water bowl and grooms meticulously.

Probably because she can web it in the bowl. Change the water asap. T's like to keep a clean hose.

LOL Karina uses hers as a toilet! Guess they like 'running water' bathrooms too!

Yeah, I changed it as soon as she whet back to her hide. I didn't want to take chances with bacteria.

I watched her this time. She literally walked up to it and dropped it in, then started grooming.

My chromatus keeps burying his water bowl so I've put two in there, one for him to bury and one to drink from. The other one more or less lives in his one, and one of my b smithis, flamenco is in her one a lot.

My Ares, (a b. smithi) always poops on this little terra cotta pot I have in his tank. It get annoying because I have to take it out and scrub it every time, but at least he's consistent. :p
