A Tale of Tank Maintenance and the Maniac

So I went in to do maintenance on all the enclosures today, they all needed clean water bowls and Karina's tank needed a good good de-pooping, silly avics sure like decorating that way lol.

I started with Chaos' enclosure, get the trickiest out of the way first (or so I thought). She retreated right into her little burrow. There wasn't much to do there besides pick out a couple cricket legs and such, all went smoothly. She was a complete lady.

Next up Karina. Changed out the water dish np, picked out some cricket legs (this seems to be the only thing ever left behind by any of them lol) and then started cleaning the glass. She's always pretty laid back so I just go about my business, and just use a small paintbrush to herd her over when I need to get to the spot she's sitting. Today was a little different for her, she usually just moves over no problem, but no matter what she just did not want to budge from the one spot (maybe full from her big 2 cricket dinner last night) lol. I just decided to leave her happily sitting like the diva she is, pleased that most of the tank looked good again at any rate.

I open up Noelle's tank, checked to see that she was tucked away in her hide, which is unusual for her, so I figure this is going to be a no hassle tank clean as well (which it normally is as long as I leave her silly bottle cap alone lol). As soon as I open the enclosure, she decides to take a stroll to check out the events. I'm keeping my eye on her as I go to take her water dish out to clean and replace it (keep in mind this is on the opposite side of the tank), she bolted right over almost to where the water dish is. I couldn't believe it, actually startled me a bit. I come back and she's sitting right where the water dish goes. No problem, I'll just do the cleaning on the other side and put the dish in last...right? Wrong! Omg, she followed me around actually threat posing me all over the place (she even attacked the paint brush)! I was fairly surprised by this behaviour, she's usually pretty good about me mucking about in there. It took me a good 15 minutes just to get the water dish back in...and I had to leave a couple cricket legs in there. What a complete maniac LOL

I couldn't believe it. She didn't even run or go into hair flicking posture...just straight to throwing threats! o_O

I probably will the next time. This time I was just so fascinated by the behaviour, and just wanted to keep observing what she was going to do, so didn't even think to do something to prevent it...maybe I'm a maniac too lol.

Oh, naughty girl. I can honestly say i've never had a Rosie that just lounges about, a lot of people call them pet rocks buy none of mine have been like that. Money tried to grab the cloth off me when I cleaned his pot last week but he wasn't having a go at me he just thought hmm my lids off it must be food. I reckon Rooney has been talking to Noelle.

LOL thanks! I was hoping to avoid that club haha. She normally goes into the flicking posture, but never actually does any flicking. I don't know what was up with her the other day. Sorry you got hair bombed, I'm sure it would be annoying...I'm glad I'm not part of that club yet lol

Silly question but none of mine flick hair often ( to be fair most of mine don't have much hair yet ) do they only flick with there back legs ? Sometimes ramases jumps up and down with his middle legs rubbing his belly. What's that about ?

Mostly. I've heard of some, like E. Murinus kicking hair with their front legs, lol.
