So, I can see "her", but she's burrowed into the old enclosure. I'm tempted to just dump the old substrate right in, but I also feel like maybe I shouldn't press it. Also, my obt is already nuts, and is really small. About nickel size. I'm thinking about leaving her alone for a few days before I rehouse. Comments/suggestions...?

What are you planning on putting them in first off? I always try to get them in a catch cup before rehousing unless the old enclosure is small enough to fit into the the new one, then I'll just sit it down inside and nudge them out or let them come out on their own if i think they'll bolt for it.

I'm sorry for the picture quality, but that's exactly what you're looking at. The old house is in the new one. It's a 16 oz deli cup.

Ah id just let it come out then and pull the old one out when it gets settled in and i don't think they have any attachment to their web, they can make another one;)

With most baboons i always start a burrow for them and try to coax them into it, 80% the time this works and i dont have any stress in trying to remove the old enclosure. Below is the set up i made for my Pterinochilus Lugardi i just got a few days ago, it shot straight for the burrow and haven't seen it since.

Here is my my Pterinochilus murinus rehouse. Yes, I'm afraid of them getting on me. They're tiny, and need to be where it's safe and quiet.

That is some sexy enclosure action there sir. I like what you're doing here. I just left the burrow idea alone. Everyone else just seemed to think it was best to leave the spider to its business. I'd prefer to have as little direct contact as possible, because I am a rookie with two old worlds.

The H. Pulchripes has a good little burrow in its old home. I'm totally fine with it hanging in there for awhile too.

Now I should feed my obt because murder cat got to food. Thankfully the two I needed are still alive.

Their slings...no worries. I handle slings all the time. When they become juveniles you need to start worrying about a bite.

Take a paint brush and slide it down the side of the little enclosure and gently move it along the bottom. The sling will run out and you can pull out the enclosure with the tongs.

Man, I wish I had gotten a pair of straight metal tongs. The bamboo ones are nice but I don't like how the tip is curved.

I'm pretty gentle with the tongs. I can probably use them. Even though my obt already thinks it's a tank, and I would probably turn panzer faust is I rattled this deli cup. My H pulchripes might move if I just removed the webbing.

As a rule though, because I've had a history of allergic reactions from bee stings, I want to try to stay as far away as possible. I live on my own with just a cat, who is well known for killing anything she thinks she can eat, so my utmost caution is highly necessary.

Get in good habits now while I'm new, so I don't have issues later. Is basically the name of the game. Helped me stay alive while I was a truck driver too.

My phone doesn't have a great quality picture, but it's so cute, you can see it's tiny fangs and it's mouth, it's so cool.

It's a myth with bee stings. Their venom is constructed differently. The only comparison is the pain but even then. Speak to anyone who has been bitten by one of their Ts and they'll take a bee sting any day
