Woke up this morning to see the bald spot on Ziggy on his kiwi butt. There is also a smaller patch further up too. His last molt was on 07/05/24 so I'm thinking it's way too early for another pre-molt. He's approx 9cm and I know they grow fast, but not this fast?? He did take a cricket only...
There seems to be some white marking on my Acanthoscurria Geniculata's butt. Is this something to be concerned about? Or is it an early sign of pre-molt? Sorry if the photos aren't too clear - my iPhone always blurs the picture if I'm up close for some ridiculous reason.
Hey,
My first Acanthoscurria Geniculata is arriving next week (It's a young juvie spood). I have a square cube Tarantula Room enclosure ready for its arrival, but I'm wondering how best to position the substrate. I've seen on a lot of husbandry photos and videos that like to slant the...

I sadly lost my Acanthoscurria geniculata female earlier today, After hours of mourning and crying, because damn she was one of my first tarantulas and I'm so sad to lose her, I'm trying hard to think of reasons. She had been with me good 3 years, I got her as sexed juvenile female when she was...
Hi there, everyone! My name's Rebecca. Just joined this forum today, and I'm very happy to meet fellow tarantula enthusiasts. I don't know many people irl who like tarantulas the same as I do, so it's nice to be part of a community like this one!
I currently have a sub-adult female Brachypelma...
Hey legends,
So I collected my juvenile Geniculata on the 20th December. She moved into her new home, had a good wander about, then buried herself completely under a root. She is still there with no signs of movement. I'm getting worried now.
How long do I leave her? Should I try to peek in...
Came in to the room...Saw tarantula making molting mat...gently loosened lid...few minutes later tarantula flipped...took pictures...snatched molt a few hours after tarantula was upright...FEMALE!!!
Heya! My Name Is Brenda and I have 21 Years old, Pleased to meet you! I have 3 tarantulas: two slings and an adult bought a week ago One! The slings, One is a L. Parahybana, the other is an A. Geniculata. I have them for 11 months and they both measure 3 cm, the Parahybana is slightly bigger...
Threw the cheap macro lens adaptor on my phone and took a few photos of my whiteknee slings. Quite a short focal range on it. Planning to do some focus stacking in the future to try and capture all of the deltails.
Need to invest in a macro lens for my DSLR now that I have something tiny to...
Just transferred my Whiteknee slings to a new pot (bit early but wanted to see them clearer without disturbing them) and thought I'd take a couple shots.
They're invert viewing pots, so have a magnifying lid, which is quite nice for seeing all their little details. They're out of direct light...
Thought I'd take a moment to say "hi" as a new member and new tarantula keeper.
I've just started with two Acanthoscurria Geniculata slings from veteran member @Phil (thanks again mate).
Super excited to be starting out in the hobby and being a part of the community.
Thought I'd leave this...
Hey guys! I’ve been wanting to cut down my collection and shift to more reptile-focused breeding projects. Here’s a small list of suspect males and one mature male I have for sale:
- MM H. chilensis - just molted into a mature male on 11/26 - would make a great addition for anyone looking to...
