Always looking for different and safe methods to transfer the T's, I gave this way a try. While clearing items for the room expansion, found a stack of thin cardboard backing sheets. I came up with this, taking a ruler, razor knife and tape, fashioned a tunnel-like bridge to connect the...
Finally got a decent photo, mainly keeps hidden at the bottom, but decided to stroll the enclosure.
I keep it in a 12X12X18 enclosure, classified as terrestrial, some prefer an arboreal lifestyle.
A fairly heavy webber, bottom is a maze of silk tunnels, but molts like an arboreal. Disturb the...
Hopefully the last new home she will have to endure.
I'm posting a photo of each home she has resided in.
From left to right:
1) vial she was shipped in.
2) 1st home ( 24 hrs.) after receiving, size 3.75" dia. X 6.5" tall (converted 40 oz. p-nut butter container).
3) 4.5"X4.5"X10.5".
4) This...
Bought a full sheet of acrylic and rolled up my sleeves to build more arboreal enclosures. Only power tool used was a drill press (small bench top type). Materials: 1 sheet 48"X96"X.180" acrylic, 4' straight edge, razor knife w/h blades, Loctite plastic bonder epoxy, painters tape, 5 pair 1"X1"...
Upon checking for leftover prey/bolus this morning, caught this little one flipped. Had to remove the cricket to eliminate any disaster from happening. This is its 3rd molt since December and should be able to sex this one.
Found these while wandering down an aisle I rarely stroll. Not large at 23"X13"X30", but holds 160lbs. per shelf and just $15 each. So I bought 2 and plan to stack them with fabricated couplings. Already have a spot in the T room for it.
Plus had 8 small protection pieces that will be used as...
Bea-na, one of my G. porteri, had a molt.
This morning she left this, measures just over 4", and is holding up in her hide for now. Not too bad for an 8 y.o. girl. Yes, a slow growing species but live a long life.[emoji4]
I would like to know if anyone uses this in their enclosures.
Been researching for a suitable substitute for cork bark and this looks promising. Its used in terrariums, vivs and as centerpieces holding live plants. On one supplier's site a bulk order of these is 1/3 the cost of cork bark of the...
Fresh build 6"X6"X12".
My 2 1/4" baby needed more spacious living quarters.
Has been in the deli since acquiring it, molted once and shredded it before I could sex it. [emoji20]
Waiting for her/him to venture out to remove deli cup.
Pics below.
TODAY!!!!
Everyone says they don't know what to give me, so usually its $$.
To make this thread short, I called Paul Becker and placed an order with him for overnight shipping today.
A couple species are for breeding projects, the others were on my "want" list. [emoji3]
3 H. albostriatum...
I was given a large piece of .080" acrylic that was going to a neighbors trash container. Always used .220" acrylic on past enclosures, but decided to give the thin stuff a go anyway. Well, it came out fine, not display quality, the doors at the latch side needed some reinforcement with extruded...
This is my last post here. For the last 2 days I've tried to connect through the Tapatalk app to no avail. I don't want to learn a completely new way on a phone, that's just me. Until I can access through Tapatalk, everyone keep the T hobby growing with new acquisitions and helping the...
Went early to the local reptile show today and picked these up:
2 H. maculata slings barely 1/2"
1 H. hainanum 2 1/2"
1 C. huahini 3"
1 P. scofra 2 1/2"
Had to rescue the P. scofra, was in a 12 oz container with a dead cricket and a thin, I mean see the bottom thin, of coco fiber, a sponge...
Heading to my T room to do some rehousing. Total of 6 need bigger homes.
One S. calceatum
Two P. cambridgei
One P. muticus
Two C. darlingi
Hoping all are going to be cooperative. [emoji4]
"Catch cups. To the ready." [emoji3]
These are for my pair of 1 1/2" P. Cambridgei slings. Have to buy more epoxy to finish the left one, needs top & latch installed. The size is 4"X4"X11" ID, should be large enough for a while. [emoji4]
I enjoy building these, much cheaper than buying, plus getting to use the power equipment...
Well I decided to make my first arboreal enclosure to house my S. calceatum in a few days from now. It measures 7.5" X 7.5" X 15" ID. Its just 3"+ DLS now, so it will be in it for some time before a final rehousing. [emoji4] Took more time to make since I used epoxy, instead of silicone, to...
I have been using this since Xmas. It has red red lights on one of the settings. I have a red ceiling lamp in my T room, but with this, I can see each enclosure without moving them. [emoji4]
2AM feeding and I reversed the normal pattern this time beginning with the SA and adults, everything went smoothly.
Slings were going well, last was the 2 P. cambridgei, roughly 3/4" in size. I checked the enclosure for its location, prior to opening the lid as I always do. Ahh.. its under the...
