yes, very. the female needs to keep hunting or she will starve, they also need WAY more water than other ants you gotta keep them WAY more humid. They cannot be reared properly in a test tube, they need stable substrate, and cannot be cultured in hearths, either. The larvae need to be 'pinned' to the walls of the brood chamber which is why they have spines

cottonball/water combo doesnt work. just use eco-earth and keep it saturated.
