Why no Psalmopoeus genus?

I have irminia and pulcher. I love them. They both made web tubes at the top when I moved them to larger enclosures, but my pulcher just hangs out in the corners of her newest enclosures. I've done several re-houses and never had any issue with them. They move and behave as expected for a fast arboreal.

There is nothing dangerous about a spider in a plastic box in your home. Statistically speaking a five gallon bucket in your garage poses a bigger hazard. (Drowning hazard.) Put the tarantula up high where the kid can't reach it and it shouldn't be a problem. My 12 year old helps me feed and care for our tarantula collection and has her own in her bed room.

Yes Enn is correct. You keep them exactly the same as pokies. I feel they are alot more defensive then pokies and seem much faster.
My Psalmopoeus reduncus is one of my favorites ....View attachment 36369

More defensive? They're not like OBTs are they?

My pokies aren't really that defensive at all, basically zero. My P vittata slings can get a little nervous at times. They always disappear into a corner or run for their hides.

No, they're not like OBTs. I've raised 2 irminias and a reduncus from tiny slings and I also have a cambridgei that came as a juvi and none have caused me any problems. Yes, they're fast but not aggressive, at least mine aren't, but the calmest is probably the cambridgei .

I have several that refuse rehousing without lots of threat poses baring of fangs. My Psalmos run a lot more, but the Poecs are faster when they decide they want to run.

I just rehoused my MF irminia the other day. I tried And was met with threat poses each time. I gave her 5 minutes in between attempts. On try 4 she decided nothing was wrong and walked right into the new enclosure no problem.

Are they also the largest ones as well?

My female cambridgei is not quite 4" yet, she'll happily sit still for a photo and only move a few inches when I open her container,
