My A.Chalcodes, Cal, molted last night. I love the shiny black of him. He's probably about 5-6" now.

Where are the mating hooks?
I'm not sure how old he is. I've only had him since May 2017, wild caught. He was about 2-3" when I found him. This is second molt since I've had him.

Plus male chalcodes get really dark and lose most of the blonde color when they mature.

I was able to get a better look at him this morning and, yes, he has the hooks and the papal hooks. Does this mean he won't live much longer?? Makes me sad. :(
The clock is ticking for him now...I've had males live almost 4 years after maturing. Currently I have two old males that matured a year and a half ago and they are still making sperm webs.

Trip, my Poecilotheria metallica has moulted today. It looks as though all her past problems have sorted themselves out but I can't wait to see her out and about in all her glory instead of squished in the back corner of her container. .
