So my GBB has gone into I’m not eating mode. This is my first experience of a spider not in pre-moult refusing food. Ive still got a lot of firsts to experience. She is a hfemale, not sure i’d even say SA, large juvie? She’s moulted twice with me, last end Feb, but just not interested. She does have a health issue, a hole in her sternum but i don’t think that is involved as it was there before her last moult. Her abdomen looks fine, not big not small. But if i introduce food of any kind, dead or alive, I get revolted/disgusted leg reactions. Take it away! I’m guessing this could goon for some time? A lull in her growth pattern? It’s pretty warm in the UK right now. Normal? Thanks.

Thanks guys. I’ll remove water bowl. Where i live is by default humid. So we do have pretty high humidity. and in a small flat stuff adds to that - kettles, dishwashers, baths, Interesting. I’m moving soon so should be able to look at things around general humidity with better ventilation.

Could you share pics of the current setup?
Its a bit webbed up, semi arboreal. But your question did make me realise one glaring error on my part. I had put some sling pots on top of her enclosure in the last few months and this may have been blocking the ventilation which is top only. I’ve removed them all which should increase ventilation / decrease humidity. So stupid. Thank you guys!

from your previous post I think you have already figured this out but I definitely wouldn't remove the water bowl. if you need to decrease humidity I would increase ventilation.
Thank you. I’ve been keeping an eye on her. Left the water bowl in. If there was an issue I think it was more with ventilation and stagnation of the air in her enclosure. She’s been more active for sure since i removed the sling pots and very gently waved a bit of air flow around her home but not hungry. I’ve triple checked the humidity and it’s pretty low tbh. This is the enclosure i started her in and because she webbed up ok I’ve left her in it. Its a 20x20x30. So a bit tall. But she’s coped fine and has moulted twice. She usually sits half way up.

So quick update. I rehoused her and she webbed it up good and proper, stagnant air no longer, but still hadn’t eaten for 4-5 months really. And then about 2 weeks ago i thought i try her with a tiny cricket and boom she was on it like lightening, her fast is over. But it’s weird going from an uninterested poke of her foot to full on rolling about taking down the smallest cricket i had. She does like small prey. But takes them down like they’re big prey.

So for me this was reassurance about the whole not eating thing. She didn’t eat but at no point did she look thin or sickly. And now she’s eating again. And her butt has put on a bit of weight.

My GBB did the exact thing you described but I'm bout positive it was a humidity thing. It took my girl more than minute to get back to the stone cold killing machine she is now! Fed her couple crickets this past weekend and she slammed them! Hopefully your T's killer instinct is back to stay! Happy Spoodering!!
