It's possible they got stuck in a moult or maybe injured itself in a fall.
If you ca post a photo of its container it might help pinpoint what may have happened.

I can't see anything obvious that could have caused an injury.
How big is it and how long have you had it?

It sounds as if it had an accident of some sort but don't worry those lost legs will grow back in a moult or 2.

Seen someone's t go through three I think super bad molts, and she eventually pulled out ok. I'm still new to this and probably will be saying that for a long time, but molts freak me out with worry.
Yeah I'm pretty new myself to this hobby I'm about to order some more t's it's a very addicting hobby which is ok with me because they are very good pets to have the webbing they do is very mesmerizing.

If they've got 8 legs and 2 palps then no issue - and I'd assume the leg you found is one off the moult.

Otherwise, you can look for mites around the joints and chelcirae. Bleeding in the leg will sometimes cause them to auto-amputate in order to minimise blood loss, as the socket where the leg fits has sort of its own safety hatch to just close off the flow.
