Update: Endoscope Inspection Camera

Does anyone use an endoscope inspection camera to check on their pet holes?

We have a few T's who are burrowed & not visible through the side or bottom of the enclosure & have been thinking for some time that with these endoscope inspection cameras now costing so little & with them offering the least possible stress to a burrowed T, if we really want to check on it. We are thinking it may be worth the few £'s to buy one & give it a go.

My logic is. It is less stressful to digging them out.

One of these guys is good reason. MM King Baboon. Raised from a sling. Most stressful sling I've raised to date! Will disappear down a hole and NOT come back up. Will stay down and literally starve themselves to death! Way I found around this, some may disagree, I put mealworms in and let them dig. Kings will find and eat them! Hardly any beetles and frankly don't remember any at all! When my King Juvie resurfaced finally it was super fat! Seemed to work for me at least. Happy Spoodering!!

We brought one for £22 off Amazon & it's great.

This will NOT work on small complex burrows. But for larger, deep burrowing T's it's perfect. I tried it on my Melopoeus albostriatum, which has a 9 inch plus deep burrow & it was easily possible to see her standing & wondering what the ---- was happening.

So for some of our T's we have no more wondering. No more digging after months of not knowing. We will not check weekly, or even monthly. But we will be able to do a check that is less invasive than the alternatives if we have not seen something for several months.
