It's the dogs I'm always worried about, because I'm sure those little beasts (the ticks, not the dogs) are getting immune to the treatment. When we stayed in Germany with the Army, Trigger used get ticks a lot despite frontline and co. It's when they're full and you accidentally tread on them, yuck!

The funny thing is u can lyme shot for ur pets. not for people though. they didnt make enough money off of it to keep making it for people. both my dogs have the lyme vaccine. I dont worry about them too much.

On subject: Found this little beauty while dismantling our old shed. She must have been getting ready to lay an egg sack, cos she was in the corner of a support bar

We get bigger ones around here, lol. That one (Zygiella x-notata, I believe) is quite large for its species, but I think she's possibly gravid. It looked like she was getting ready to lay an egg sack.
The Tegenaria duellica (House spider) around here can be massive though
