Our B. albo is almost three years old and my daughter and I decided a few more Ts might be fun, so we ordered a GBB from Jamie's last week and picked up 2 slings locally; a B. vagans and a G. rosea.

We fed the GBB it's first meal 3 days after receiving it, a pinhead Lat, and the other two we watched eat before we bought them, both had strong prey instincts (out of the fee specimens we observed of each species) and the GBB was an opportunistic Hunter and waited for the prey to get close before it struck.

All slings are around 3/4"-1" in size and are in Jamie-style sling enclosures that I modified by drilling airholes in the sides and using a solid top; except for the GBB which has the traditional screen-vented top.

The G. rosea and B. vagans have both burrowed while the GBB has just started webbing (literally 3 or 4 strands) and appears to be the youngest/smallest of the three. It has been rather stationary and observed either perched on a leaf or near the top of the enclosure on the side wall.

All 3 slings are in a micro climate tank to help keep temps in the low to mid 70s since it has been a touch cold here, but it's been warming up so I might remove them to get better air flow.

I guess that is all I have to report for now but we are hopeful these 3 new species will become good display Ts and help eat all these roaches we are growing lol

Fed all three slings yesterday

B. vagans ran out of it's burrow to grab a freshly molted lat as big as it's own body

G. rosea's roach ran into one of the burrow openings and was never seen again

GBB laid low under the curled leaf in it's enclosure until the roach nymph was close then pounced on it

Good feeding day overall

Feeding our GBB sling

I missed the strike but here are two vids showing the T becoming aware of the prey and then dragging it into its lair.

On first attempt the roach scrambled but I prodded it back towards the T with a paperclip bent straight and the T snagged it immediately - it was faster than I

T sees the roach and turns around

T got the roach before I could start recording (I need a tripod)

I usually have my camera on the tripod or already running before putting in the feeder. Sometimes I'll edit the video and cut out the beginning of it's to retarded.
I'm using my phone so I need to look I to a tripod and video editing software lol

I saw G. rosea out of it's burrow too but by the time I grabbed my camera it retreated. Hope it gets less shy soon lol
