I think this one comes the closest to rivalling the C. Versicolor and the Tliltocatl albo! The only reason I wouldn't consider this one on par with them is because it looks like not all of them are as fluffy as the one in this photo. I wish they were though, because dayum!!Or possibly the Avic Huriana. but this one is a little harder to find. But its super fluffy. View attachment 59233
I recently added a H. maculata to my collection (named her Betelgeuse), so my wishlist needs tweaking.Once I get a little more experience of spicy T's, my wishlist comprises of:
1) P. ornata
2) P. regalis
3) P. tigrina
4) H. Maculata
More to be added!
I am 100% with you. I have Arachnophobia myself and I got into Tarantula keeping for this reason. I have grown to love the fluffers because they look cuddly (not that I would cuddle a Tarantula) but they just LOOK less scary for some reason. Not a huge fan of any spider without hair. There was a Tarantula on Dark Den, it was dark brown, very leggy, almost bald, and SUPER long spinnerets. REALLY creepy species! (Forgot the name, sorry)Yes, I am! I actually came across that species in my search to find the fluffiest tarantulas hah, but in my opinion (from the pictures I've seen) it looks like they are slightly less fluffy than the Caribena versicolor. The reason I am going for the fluffiest ones possible is because as a former arachnophobe they are less scary looking to me lol
I'm pretty sure this is the Tarantula I was talking aboutThere was a Tarantula on Dark Den, it was dark brown, very leggy, almost bald, and SUPER long spinnerets. REALLY creepy species! (Forgot the name, sorry)
WHY are its spinnerets so long?! I am terrifiedI'm pretty sure this is the Tarantula I was talking about

They are in the family Dipluridae, not Theraphosidae Very cool animal though. Makes very cool web castles.I looked them up and Google says theyre called "funnel web tarantulas" *shrugs*
That's weird I wonder why they're still called tarantulas by some sourcesThey are in the family Dipluridae, not Theraphosidae Very cool animal though. Makes very cool web castles.
I once saw a pic of a gray/black tarantula that had fluffy back legs and skinny front legs. He looked like he was wearing trousers. I wish I’d jotted down his name
