Hi everyone. I ran this by @Josh via DM before making this thread to make sure I am in compliance with the rules, as I understand this is a bit different than normal marketplace threads.
My name is Steve and I got my first tarantula all the way back in 2006. I recently built a site called https://tarantulalist.com that aggregates listings from reputable U.S. vendors into one place so it’s easier to see what’s available without opening a dozen tabs.
A few quick things it can do:
- Search for a species and see in-stock listings from multiple (currently 16, and counting) U.S. vendors on one page
- Add multiple species to your search to see only vendors who have ALL of the species you want in stock (helps to save on shipping)
- Filter by certain vendors to only see listings from shops you like to buy from
- Sort by price for your search
- Click through directly to the vendor’s product page if a listing appeals to you
Right now the site only covers U.S. vendors, and I focus on established shops rather than individual classifieds. It’s a personal project, free to use, and I’m still adding vendors and small improvements as I go.
To be completely transparent (this is mentioned on the site as well): if a vendor has a coupon code next to their listings, I get a small commission if you use that code. It doesn’t affect which vendors are included or how they’re shown, and if you sort by price it sorts by the pre-coupon price.
If you have any questions about how it works, want your favorite vendor added, or notice anything that doesn’t look right, feel free to reply here or send me a DM. I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread.
Thanks for taking a look,
Steve
