so in my Red Knee Slings container I have about 2in of sub. She has dug a tunnel down to the bottom and started going around. I have only had her for 4 days and havent gotten her to eat yet. should I remove some of the sub so she cant dig like this? I cant see how I can feed her or at least be sure she eats like this.

When they are small they like to burrow. You might try leaving a small bit of prekilled food in there and waiting. If she hasn't eaten it in 24 hours remove it and try again in a few days. Tarantulas can go a very long time with out eating. Just make sure you are keeping the humidity appropriate (I saw in your other posts you have that covered) and just wait and see.

lol I just repiled to your post on my "howdy" thread(DalilahBlue). But yep I will drop a prekilled cricket at the burrow mouth.

My Whiteknee sling did that...her burrow ended up being a good 5 inches in length and about 1.5 inches deep. I wouldn't worry about the feeding, in my experience crickets especially love to squeeze themselves into any dark space they can fit into, tarantula burrows included. Even if they don't venture down there, your sling will probably come up to hunt.

As an update.... I am now convinced I am raising an 8 legged pigglet:p. Just yesterday she ate 2 crickets. 1 live(it ran right down the burrow to her) and the prekill I had placed JIK. so now she wont get more till Tues. If I should feed again sooner someone let me know.

PS I have seem her all over her small container so I think as long as I watch the temp she will do fine. She is a Red Knee and sometimes the temp hits 85F before I turn off the suplemental heat. I think she can handle 90F.

You likely don't need any supplemental heat at all. You you are comfy in the room without the heat, so is she.

My bedroom, where my T's are routinely gets to down to 65, especially at night. For the most part (not with all Ts) if you are comfy they are fine.
