what it says in the title her abdomen is 2/3 the size of her carapace, is this any need for concern or nah?
A shriveled abdomen can be. There's no reason to assume that just because your tarantula has a small abdomen that it's in poor health. A small abdomen can simply mean that the tarantula hasn't eaten many meals since its last molt. The abdomen isn't always going to be plump. It will vary in size depending on where the spider is at in its molt cycle.Gonna have to disagree. A small abdomen can be a very bad thing..
I'll respond for you since this thread is really old. After three days your sling is good to eat. The big misconception with feeding aftermolting is mainly for juveniles and adults. Slings can eat much sooner.I have a p Metallica sling with a super small abdomen but it’s not shriveled and it just molted it’s on day 4 after the moly and I’m going to pop a cricket in tomorrow I’m pretty sure it’s ready now but those fangs sure r hard to see lol. N before the moly it wouldn’t eat for awhile so I’m hoping it will be just fine.
Thank you. I did offer a cricket to both my p Metallica and my GBB slings which had both molted on the same day lol and they both readily took their crickets and this morning the abdomens looked really niceI'll respond for you since this thread is really old.
