Hi everyone i am new to the Forum. I am a mum who is surprising her son with a Chilean rose (Grammostola rosea) he has been wanting to keep one for years so i have done my research and finally though i was ready to get one so we can do it together, I got all kitted out everything in place ordered our sling, he has been home for 1 week and 2 days and he is still not eating, I worry that im doing something wrong, He still look healthy enough and moving around, I reached out to the seller and he used to eat weekly with him and had a moult three weeks ago! He advised me that i possibly had him in to big a terrarium for a sling so we have down sized and still no change, Any help and tips would be much appreciated. Thanks

When you say a sling are you talking about something about half an inch or something larger? If the seller was feeding weekly, I suspect your sling is larger.
And what food are you offering it & are you leaving it available at least overnight?
Sometimes it can take a T (Tarantula,) a little while to settle into a new enclosure.
Sometimes T's can go awhile without eating. Personally I offer my small slings a deheaded mealworm at least twice a week. And they decide if they eat or not.
My smaller slings are kept in vials (top photo, left.) And my larger slings, up to 1.5 - 2 inches are kept in delitubs. (Bottom photo right.)

He is a good size sling maybe 1inch, we offer deheaded mealworms and leave it for a day, hes in a deli tub like your photo. Maybe he just needs more time to settle, im probably just over worried with it being my first. Thank you so much for the advice
