Rehousing

So I have seen some posts that talk about the general rule of thumb for rehousing (2.5-3x the diagonal length of the tarantula including legs). So my current enclosure for my Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens is 3.5” diameter and in measuring my T (it wasn’t stretched out but as close as possible to it being stretched out) was 1.5 inches. So my question is, should I be rehousing now or could I wait until after it’s next molt? If this has already been discussed, sorry. But when I did a search, I didn’t exactly find that info.

Personally I'd tend to wait until after it's next moult unless it has just moulted. If you wait then make sure you give it time to harden up before the rehouse.

Hey all, was able to rehouse my chromatepelma cyaneopubescens today. I’m hoping I didn’t go too big on the enclosure though. I went up to a 4” by 4” by 6”… mostly because the store I bought from didn’t really have anything in between that and my original enclosure that was 3.5“ diameter. In doing another measure of my T, when legs aren’t fully extended, it looks to be an 1.5-1.75 inches. So, based on the general idea of three times the diagonal of my T, I’m just a little bit over with the length of the new enclosure. Will this be an issue? Here are some pictures.
