Question on aphonopelmas

Hey everyone. I was wondering how your aphonopelmas behaved during winter. Specifically hentzi, anax and chalcodes

Depends on how warm it is. Once it dips to the 40s they start sealing off

My chalcodes burrows and closes off its hide in the winter, doesn't come out until it's a bit warmer.

Does she do that if it's cold outside and warm indoors? or does she do it if the temperatures dip indoor?

I only have experience with an A. hentzi sling who is out all the time and has not burrowed. I’m in Minnesota and my house gets into the high 60s/low 70s during the winter.

I have a sling henzi also. Mine has always been out and about. Eats regularly, n had its first molt since I bought it in Sept. I keep my home on the warmer side.

Fyi if you want a good aphonopelma sac with over 400 eggs you'll need to hibernate the female.

Recently described in 2016 during aphonopelma revision. Named after cash because the type specimen was from the fulsom prison area and because males are jet black
