So some of you know I'm a new keeper and I have a few questions on a Honduran T. albopilosum.

1. Are they fast growers?
From what I've read so far they are a slow to medium grower, (questionable on the medium, I'm old and my memory is bad). Mine went from 2 in. when purchased on 12/10/19 to 3.25 maybe 3.5 in. end of Feb.

2. Are they suppose to be fast moving?
Again, from what I've read they are slow moving but when threaten move fast in retreat. Mine is zippy fast all the time.

3. Are they porkers?
Mine wants to eat alot but I only feed him twice a week.

Will stop here as some of you know I'm long winded. Thanks in advance to any replies.

1. Medium growth rate, but growth slows down once they hit a certain point, my Honduran variant slowed around 3" DLS.

2. Many like present them as slow moving, but all tarantulas can turn on the jets, T. albopilosum are no different. I find the Nicaraguan Nicaraguan variant Is most likely to do this.

3. T. albopilosum are decent eaters, others like T. schroederi are better in my opinion, but their appetites are still quite good.

Thanks for replying I appreciate the answers. For a little bit there I thought I had a mutant T that would turn into something weird.

Sorry for chiming in so late @BrokenRay !

1) I'll second PanzoN88 here. Not sure on the sub adult / adult growth rate but they are the t that I've personally seen the most growth. I got Dozer in May at 1/2" dls. He grew like a weed up to about 2 inches. At one point he sealed off his burrow and let his tunnels collapse for 2 months. Came out at least twice the size. I suspect a double moult but can't confirm. Now he's probably 2.5 - 3 inches and the last 2 have been a lot slower.

2) They all can move pretty fast when necessary but I did notice a huge difference between Dozer and my Pterinopelma sazimai! That one bolts around it's enclosure and it's kinda hard to track. I couldn't deal with a teleporter like a poecilotheria.

3) Dozer is by far my best eater. Unless he's in premoult he eats all the time. I don't think I've even see a lead up fast either. He may not be the norm though.
