Question about getting another T

My current tarantula is literally REPULSED by the feeling of my skin (found this out when trying to save him from potentially falling off the edge of his enclosure lid, long story short, he'd rather risk the chance plummeting to the ground than touch my icky human hand), so I def know that he would not appreciate being handled. As much as I'd love to feel the softness of a cute tarantula, isn't it frowned upon to handle any T?
Build you a playground on a table top to prevent it from going anywhere that's not disgnated. Lol sorry. I've been thinking of it. Hoping to get someone to be the guinepig for me lol

So I figured I'd ask the Forum's input on this. I've had my first and only tarantula (mature male Tliltocatl albopilosus) for 4 months. Recently I've been considering the possibility of adopting another T in the future (still no idea when/if that would even happen yet). I've been thinking a lot on it, but before I go any further with it, I felt like it would be a good idea to hear more seasoned keepers' opinions.
So, according to y'all,
1) Given the species and length of time I've been keeping, would it be ok for me to get another this soon?
2) If I do get another tarantula, would it only be appropriate for me to own another one similar to a T. albo, or is it alright to get a more "advanced" species at this point? By "more advanced", I'm thinking along the lines of a Caribena versicolor, P. muticus, or a T. blondi. (To clarify: the reason I personally consider C. versicolor more advanced than T. albopilosus is because it is an arboreal.)
So yeah, I am interested in those 3 but also interested in potentially just getting another T. albo just because I love that species... Thanks

If you research them all I think you will find you the Versi would be the best choice. You will find out about temperament and care requirements for them each. I don't think P.muticus or T.blondi are good intermediate tarantulas at all.

So, any thoughts why human skin may not be so inviting to some tarantulas (although some seem to accept/manage it)? Does heat play a part, as our bodies are about 98.6 F (our skin likely a bit cooler)?
Arachnids actually sense (similar to taste / smell) with the urticating hairs on their bodies. This is strongest on their pedipalps and front legs. They can sense any substances from lotions, soaps, food or anything else you touch on your skin. These things may not agree with your tarantula. I've also heard they don't like the oils on our skin. Some tarantulas may be more tolerant than others.

Oops, I didn't mean to type "urticating."

Thanks makes sense. Recently someone posted on this forum that for the tarantula movies a long time ago they used a furniture polish on areas they did not want the Ts to go.

I've owned several reptiles and the best I would give them credit for it "tolerating" being handled, not "getting used to" being handled; that gives them credit for being able to rationalize and learn. It's not like a horse you can break, train and eventually ride.

Reptiles have simple brains that allow them to adapt, but their instinctive responses are pre-programmed, like our amygdala, the 'reptilian brain' that keeps us from dying by triggering fight or flight responses to stressful stimuli. Over time a reptile that is handled often will tolerate it, but stop handling it for long enough, and you will have to start the process over because it will revert to it's "original program." Tarantulas on the other hand, nonesuch.
*soapbox dismount*

Circling back to the OP. Do your research. Decide what is best for you. If frequent handling is high on your agenda, here is my suggestion

I think the worst part is having to give advise to people when they come on here for help. "Please help my spider fell". All for the unnecessary risk to hold something that doesn't want to be held in the first place. It's sad.
I hope you saw my comment about not wanting to handle lol I hope this isn't directed at me ^-^;
