My tarantula has been waking me up for a whole week... and I'm very worried... one of my ts does something very unusual. I have a juvenile female Lasiodora parybhana and in her enclosure she climbs up and bites the steel ventilation plate with impressive force!!! I'm afraid that she might break a chelicera or fall, what can I do? Please!!

I have a G. pulchripes that likes to stick a fang through the ventilation holes in her enclosure and make a clicking noise as she pulls it out. Some T's are just weird that way.

As Ratmosphere says, getting rid of the metal mesh is a very good idea but she may then find some other way to make annoying noises for you.

And BTW, don't think that metal mesh is a superior enclosure material to plastic. T's have an amazingly strong bite!

I did silicone another piece of mesh over a hole I had. She finally quit chewing on it.

I have a g. Pulchra who was doing the same thing. I gently streamed water from a squeeze bottle into the vents where he was busy biting. He immediate retreated and hasn’t done it since. I also filled his water dish (it was empty) and dampened his substrate in a corner as it was dry. Within a month he molted. I believe he may have been seeking moisture before his molt.
