Hello,

I've been away from the Forum for quite some time now and have not really had a lot of time for my Hobby, but in the past few days I've taken the time and rehoused some of my T's. During the rehousing I was able to take a few Pictures that I would like to share.

The last one I can comment on as I breed with them it's the Monocentropus balfouri or Socotra island blue baboon. They originate from Yemen and are terrestrial species which can be kept communal as slings and sub adults, but then become more aggressive and temperamental . Before adults separate or u will unfortunately lose some. Because by nature remember they are canabilistic even if you feed enough nature always takes its course. Preferred temp for them is 26 degrees celsius and humidity on 70% although they are semidesert that humidity is perfect for that species

All good info, but they are from an island off Yemen. I would also keep the humidity much lower. Like under 10%. It is very dry there other than mist coming in over the island occasionally. I find there are losses especially as slings if they are kept too wet.

As said on in message they from Yemen, but mayb 10 percent works for you. Remember everyone's setups are different at home countries have different altitude and therefore can effect the T and also 10 percent humidity will not work for me. I find mine do better at that humidity and only that comes from water dish and sprayed one corner if the enclosure.

My babies are kept in a controlled environment ( incubators all designed differently to acc compadre different temps and humidity as requirements are different in so many species, but hey like I said. We all do it differently, but mayb some of mine will require less humidity and will take ur advice in that:) 10 percent . Is that with water dish in or do u remove it?

I keep the temprature in the terrarium at around 25-26 ° C, at night it's slightly lower, and the humidity is at around 65-70%. I have a small water dish that I fill once a week and every second week I let a bit run over the sides so that I have the area around the water bowl slightly moist. To bad I don't see her to often, very shy Spider.

Yeah ur Balfouri are kept at correct temp and humidity at 65-70% humidity. I don't agree with others keeping them at humidity at less that 10 %!!! Seni desert does not mean no access to water and tarantulas will drink so in my opinion it is inhumane to withhold life supporting elements such as water . Even at dew point humidity will be more than 10 percent , but go read up up a few ppl that keep them and You will see in their natural habitat in Yemen the temperature drops and humidity increases the deeper they burrow as terrestrials. Everyone does their own thing, but just go do a little research and lets see what u say about their humidity??

In humane is a bit of a strong word considering they were happy enough to breed under those conditions... There are many ways to skin a cat, so maybe my way of keeping them is just as good as yours. :)
