Picked-up a C. Versicolor Sling Today!

Went to Repticon today and picked up a c. versicolor sling. After losing my LP sling I have been hesitant to get another sling. However, I really wanted to get a c. versicolor. So, I went ahead and got one today. Very pretty little sling!

I am a little worried about its enclosure though. I have been reading and seeing that they need lots of cross ventilation. This only has pinpricks in the lid. Should I change out it's enclosure? Also, the fake plant. Should I get a broader leafed one?

Here are a couple of pictures:

Something else that I noticed earlier and have kept watch on is that its thorax looks crooked. I'm not sure if I am being paranoid or not, but it has moved and the thorax has stayed cocked to that side.

You do want more cross ventilation. The enclosure is fine if you can put small holes in the lid and a grid on 2 places along the side. No hole should be bigger than the sling's carapace.

I'll second that opinion. What I have my sling in is a vial that I used a needle to melt a number of holes in the side with. Obviously I did this without the sling in there & I left it a while before I put the sling into the vial.

To melt the hole, I used an elecric hob on our cooker & a small pair of electrical pliers held closed with an elastic band. I then melted two bands of holes around the vial. About 5 holes per band. one band a small distance above the substrate, another band about three quarters between the substrate & the lid.

I also have about 10 similar holes in the lid. All of the sling viles have holes in the lid.

I'd give the little guy a bit more space personally, I've found some really nice little acrylic enclosures on Amazon that have cross ventilation. The ones I got are 10 cm/4" cubes but they do taller ones to suit arboreal species :)
