P scrofa panicked for no reason?

My P scrofa spent the night on the wall of her enclosure (Where the heater blows) it was about 85 on that spot, usually she spends the night in her hide, and while it was a bit chilly last night, I don't think it explains what she did this morning.

I've turned the light on at 8AM and off at 8PM every day since I got her, and so far she's had no problems with that. This morning when I went to turn the light on and she was halfway in the back entrance of her hide, and walked into her hide when I turned it on. But moments later, she shot out of her hide, stood there for a few seconds, and ran back in. She's very slow, and I don't know why she would do this. I did notice a couple of ants in my room, which I didn't notice before today. Is it possible one got in and is harrassing her? If so, what measures can I take to ensure the safety of my T?

They are normally a calmer and "slower" species, but make no mistake...they can bolt when hunting or startled. I've seen mine "sprint" before, and it's quite fast. As for why it would bolt, you most likely startled it when you turned the light on (several of my Pokies will scramble and bolt when the light goes on in the morning). The sudden change in light can be quite jarring for them. Also, your T is probably still settling in, so I will likely be a bit more active an jumpy for a while.

Did you see an ant in the enclosure?

No, I didn't, and how I have the lid set up I doubt one could have gotten in, but I'm considering all possibilities. Havent seen any others since this morning and I cleaned my room pretty thoroughly. Thing is though that I turned the light on while she was mostly in her hide, and she bolted out of it a little bit after I turned the light on, didn't seem like the light startled her.

She did a quick walk around her cage and spent the rest of the day in her hide. So hopefully it was just an anomalous occurrence.
