P. Regalis time for a molt?

Hi all,

I've had my P. Regalis (2in DLS) since the 21st of March 2014. It's hasn't eaten in 33 days now.
I drop in a cricket every other week to see if it will eat.
Temperatures are dropping to around 50°F during the night and then up to 72°F during the day again, but it's getting colder everyday.
I've got a heat pad(temporarily) that I switch on every night to raise the temp a bit.

I'm just wondering if the conditions that my T is in is preventing it from molting perhaps. Wondering if it is comfortable enough.

Any help and guidance will be very much appreciated.

That is pretty cool. Do you mean that the outside temps are 72* and 50* or inside your house is that cold? Be careful with that heat mat. I wouldn't put it directly on the enclosure. You can cook a little t pretty fast with those. Also make sure the enclosure doesn't dry out. The extra heat will dry it out pretty quick.

Thank you for the reply Tgirl1010.

Those temps would be for outside, but the house is pretty cold as well.

I've actually got the heat pad in between two tanks. The first tank has 3 enclosures inside of it, housing my B. Vagans (1.5"), N. Chromatus(2") and P. Regalis and the second tank houses my B. Boehmei(3").
The 3 'inner' enclosures are not against the glass so they should be fine, correct?
However, the B. Boehmei enclosure is right up against the heating pad.

I'll keep an eye on the enclosures, but they are still fine for now.

So last night I decided to move my P. Regalis a bit closer to the heating pad, just to ensure she gets some more heat than usual. After which I went to bed.

This morning...

My P. Regalis has a new suit. She molted during the night and all went well. I will take some pictures soon of her new suit.

Its funny how they make you worry so much and then just as you can't take it anymore, they surprise you.
