I was hoping you guys might be able to help me out with my tarantula. I have a ~2 year old Mexican Redrump T and as of the past couple months something is wrong with her and I don't know what. She had a difficult last molt (it took her over 5 months to molt from the time she stopped eating to the time the molt came off of her).
As of the past couple months her abdomen has exponentially shrunk and no matter how much she eats she can't gain her weight (girth?) back. She is also losing hair (I estimate about 55% of her hairs are gone). As of 2 weeks ago she began to lose pigment in her exoskeleton, where the loss of pigment is is where most of the hair loss is. By loss of pigment I mean where she use to be black she is now a pinkish-nude color. She also can't stick to the sides of her cage anymore and falls every time she tries to climb up.
I have several T's and none of them have ever been like this, they're all fat and happy [:
Does anyone know of anything I can do to help her? Any suggestion or opinions about what is wrong? I am determined to keep her living. Thanks!
