hi people,
I've kept Chileans for a while but last year (October2017) I got a Rosie sling (first baby ever), supposedly 6months old but bloody tiny so definitely wasn't, was told he was being fed a wax worm every two weeks, after the first molt with me changed to cricket once a week . Lovely. His latest molt showed he's a boy!

But now there's trouble!!!!!!!!

2 weeks (9/9/18) ago he fed on a cricket and had a lovely molt, I checked him and saw for the first time his hooks, left him a week, Sunday (16/9/18) got him out, happy as Larry. But the next day I went to get him out to play and it looked like he was in a curl! Panicked and cried, calmed down then moved him with a soft prod, but he wasn't curled, he ended up on his back, because of my gentle prod, left him on his back since, until last night, I noticed his rump is squidgy? Like REALLY so his health is deteriorating And I genuinely thought he had died, so flipped him over (so he is now the right way) but he seemed limp and stressed so added more damp tissue, and covered the box with a black tshirt. Quick and carefully!!
He's not reactive, shouldn't be hurt in any way, no white blood, soft safe soil and happy box (28-30c 70%humid) plenty ventilation and out of the way of my other buggers.

NB Evening 16/9/18 I tried him with little but not tiny locust (just under half size of captain) captain bit the locust but it didn't die and captain seemed uninterested but happy, took the locust out an hour after.
Morning of 17/9/18 is when the trouble started.

I love spiders, but I don't want my baby boy to die, to get more stressed or anything. I know chilies but I need help.

Order of photos
When I got him and that's my thumb in comparison

First molt

First hold

16/9/18 evening exercises before anything went 'wrong'

(He's so lovely and loved I can promise you that!)

With an MM you really only have 2 options - find him a lady friend or keep him and let him slip away peacefully in the home he knows.

I've had him a year, he has had no problem until last Monday, there's no reason that I can put together why he's dying.
Hes a mature male...they die shortly after maturing. Its nature. If he didn't die on his own it would probably be a female eating him after breeding...its a life circle. Theres absolutely nothing you can do about it...sorry. Next time get a female...they can live 20 plus years.

It can take an adult quite a while to recover from a moult just make sure he has plenty water available. He may recover and live another year but he could slip away quite quickly, there is just no telling.

He's been a mature male for 2 weeks, the first week he was fine, but for the last 7 days he seems to be dying... in a nut shell. I don't know what's going on, why he's unwell.

I'm sorry I can't tell you that, there is so little known about T ailments. All I can say is that I have had MMs die after a couple of months and 1 that lived almost 2 years.
Just know that there is nothing you can do but let nature take it's course no matter how hard that seems.
