Hi do I still need a heat mat if there are 2 x 25 watt bulbs in my tarantulas new vivarium?

No you won't be needing the heat mat - and to be honest, you don't need those bulbs either.
Tarantulas are fine in the room you're comfy being in :) At least keep observing if the T starts hovering over the water dish - That's a sign of dehydration that could be caused by the bulbs.

Also, tarantulas like firm terrain, so if possible, you could compact top of the soil to make it less soft. I like that you've given your T several hides.

Be gentle, real gentle, if you use heat at all. Include a much larger water dish and check it twice daily --no exceptions!!

The best thing to do is to turn up your home thermostat to about 75 degrees and be happy if you can adapt to that.

It's the TFE method.

If you DO use heat, you need to obtain a digital thermometer and check every inch of the cage for hot spots that can injure a T.

I do use heat, but my bulbs are no more then 25 watts and no closer to the top of the cage then 6 inches.

Warm areas are safe. Hot spots aren't.

(If you need them at all...)

Mid 70s will help metabolism as opposed to 68-71 degrees typically found in most homes.
