I finally got a new T that has been on my list for a very long time.

A 2 inch Caribena versicolor

It was an unexpected purchase just a little while ago. I have to buy a proper enclosure immediately.

The photo is bad I couldn't get a clear shot for a good photo, sorry.

I also forgot to add this is my first arboreal.

Can any member give me advice on rehousing a 2 inch arboreal?

I have my terrestrial rehousing down to a tee but arboreal as they always want to go up I guess get the cup on it as soon as you open the enclosure. Need advice please.

A 2” arboreal will be good in a 32oz deli cup. Plenty of cross ventilation for Avics/carabena bit of cork and a water dish (raised if you choose)

once they’re in and settled they will spend the majority of their time in the webbing so coming out isn’t a problem.

Thanks for replying, I have enclosures coming from Jamie's. The current one is not good but will do until the new ones arrive. I have the husbandry down for a C. versicolor in it's enclosure and type but never rehoused an arboreal before.

I'm guessing I would use the same method in transferring it to the new enclosure as I do terrestrials. I just don't want an escapee on my hands.

Beautiful spider. Congratulations! ;)

Thank you :D

Now I have 5, (yes I know it's funny I never viewed the T hobby as a competition on collection size and will never have that many as other people. Saying this in the nicest way possible as it's hard to read how someone is saying something in just words. Trying to come off as respectful about this) I also have one wild caught brown recluse.

Earlier this week I caught an unidentified jumping spider which I took outside and let go. Rethinking that decision now, I wish I kept him.

Sorry for writing a book here.

I've come a very long way from previously suffering from severe arachnophobia that controlled every aspect of my life.

My hardest critics are my family.

We find it handy to use a small fizzy pop bottle with the bottom cut off to transfer smaller Ts (particularly arboreal ones) if you use a soft brush to get them to go in, then place a small piece of cardboard underneath to stop it running out the bottom... Transfer it over and often you can just gently undo the bottle top and tilt that end down.. With a little encouragement they often will come out with no trouble.. Of course catch cups at the ready just in case but we have found using the plastic bottle like that is quite handy :) hope that helps

Congrats! Love my avics, hope you have a similar love affair :T:

Like ilovebrachys said catch cup ready but the Avics like to wander rather than bolt in my experience.
They are often cautious and appear slow but are capable of speed

Thanks, I love it, the blue is so awesome on this T at it's size wish I started out with 1/2 inch to witness all the colors up to this size.

This will give me some more experience with faster than I'm used to, wish me luck lol.
