Sometimes they just take really long to burrow. Then there are the few that will never really make a deep burrow. It's possible your substrate can't hold structure well, but likely it just hasn't decided to burrow yet. If it's eating and healthy, I wouldn't worry.

When I had mine I used a pvc pipe with a cap on the end and put it at an angle in the dirt. She webbed inside and made it her home. I used an extra cap to close her in there while I cleaned her cage. She never burrowed on her own.

Count your blessings! You can actually observe her, instead of shining a flashlight down a tunnel just to see some feet! My lividum is my pride and joy, even though I rarely see her, so maybe I'm a bit jealous, lol. In all seriousness, do you have an idea of her age? Any history on her? I'm assuming she's featured in your profile pic, so definitely adult. You might just be lucky, and own a rare lividum. Provide a hide, and maybe she'll web that up nicely instead.

Kudos for MiaWolf: great idea!

As for your lividum, I don't know why she (is she a she? because a mature male could very well not burrow at all) isn't burrowing. Is it a matter of substrate? What did you choose? I remember your post about humidity. How moist is the substrate? Is it possible to describe it?

Nicolas has brought up sex and substrate type.
If it is a male, possibly mature, is only interested in mating and won't burrow.
If female, she may need more time to dig a burrow, no set time frame each has their own characteristics in doing this.
Substrate for lividum needs to be moist, tropical asian species, topsoil with vermiculite added (10%) is what I've been using for years.
Definitely a beautiful species, one I adore and breed, when they show themselves. Lol!
Have patience, its eating and has water.

Thank you all. I could shine a light down to see her. She also came up and Sat close to the entrance when she was hungry. A beautiful animal!
Before the tube idea, mine never burrowed. I tried a few different hides but she never seemed happy.
Your T sounds happy, if she's eating and has webbed a spot.

I'm still waiting for a molt to be a 100% on her sex but I think it could be a she so that's what I'll stick with till the molt proves me wrong. And yeah she has 8" of a spider life and coco brick mix that is compacted down to make it more suitable to burrow into and the humidity is fine I give it a little soak ever couple of days
