Trying to figure out if my sling is fixing to molt. About 3/4", last molt was in November. Apetite is lower and abdomen seems darker, just looking for other opinions

The photo is a wee bit blurry, but it looks like a darkening abdomen. Is it still taking food or refusing it all together? If it is refusing all food, it is highly likely in premoult.

Be careful not to leave a prey item in the enclosure of a tarantula in premoult, as that’s a very real threat to your tarantula’s life.

3/4 " and hasnt molted in 3 months? Yup, gonna molt soon most likely. Now, after pic has loaded, I can tell you that yes, Lubo is correct, its in heavy premolt.

Yeah sorry about the blurry photo. Thank you for the help. I figured it was close. Ill put flightless fruit flies in before work and usually theyll be gone after i get home but none were eaten yesterday. Also he/she quit eating the brocken up canned crickets i usually do as well about a week ago.

My B.hamorii about that size molted a few weeks ago. Looked like that for about a week then its abdomen turned black like a ripe grape for about a day then it flipped. Next morning it had its new clothes. Thought I had normal and pre-molt pics but cant find all of them.

Looks plenty fat enough to molt soon...it should get much darker. Most slings will turn down food when in premolt. If it's not eating that's a good sign.

Heres an updated picture that a zoomed in and screenshot today. I think he/she has a little time to go. Still seems to have much hair on the abdomen but I'm no expert lol
