This website is very helpful and is what I looked at to help me learn! :D

http://milehighbugclub.com/Methods for Sexing Tarantulas.htm
Thanks for posting this, BigTGirl! My A. geniculata sling is getting close to 2 inches (probably will by the next molt) so I'm hoping I'll be able to sex it soon. That post taught me some things I never knew. :)

Another sexing tip I've heard of is looking at the chelicerae: in females they are usually larger.

Anybody have any thoughts why my giant Brazilian white knee isn't growing very fast. I have a GBB, smithi, Indian ornamental, ivory ornamental and the white knee I've gotten as slings. I also have a few adults. Everybody is molting and growing and presumably happy. The white knee seems to like a damp spot in the substrate and its water bowl (seemed odd) eats no problem and seems slow to molt. Any thoughts? I want this sucker to grow. Temp is @ 81 and humidity @50% maybe. Probably more in his enclosure since he likes wet stuff. Help please.

I am as crossed as you are on this one, my LP sling is slow to molt too, she has been refusing food for weeks but drinking fine, shes webbing like crazy and her abdomen is black, so everyday I just keep my fingers crossed that I will find two T's in my tank ;) haha but nothing.

The third and fourth pics are the ones we need to look at. I really don't see a flap in between the first set of book lungs, so I say male.
