Hi I bought this tarantula about a week ago now and it has settled in well and has a veracious appetite. Considering its size of approximately six inches I thought it was a bit of a steal priced at £25.

It was advertised as an unsexed salmon pink. However, looking at images on the internet. I think it could possibly be a klungii. Was wondering if anyone could confirm what they believe it to be and possibly also confirm the sex. I am suspecting male as the rump appears to be relatively small.

Hello
Firstly it looks like a Lasiodora klugi not parahybana. The klugi has red hair on the abdomen, whereas the Lasiodora parahybana has a pinkish hue. Another thing, abdomen size doesn't dictate male or female much. With this genus, balbous pedipalps and tibial hooks would be more accurate.

Also, not all males can be seen having these. They only get this at their ultimate molt, then its prominent.
