What I do, is I move the water dish around. So I move it, overflow it, allow it to dry. Then move it & overflow it again. Like that no one area is too wet, for too long & that means, especially with a species that likes it dry, such as Tliltocatl albopilosus, each area get to totally dry out & kill off any developing mold naturally. A plus of this method is, it keeps enclosure moisture levels at a reasonable level. As you can overflow one area, whilst the other has a small amount of moisture still left there.

Another one I often do, is I push a pencil of similar into the substrate & then use a syringe to squirt water into the lower levels of the substrate.
